Nvidia vs Amd, Rtx 4090 vs 7900 XTXx

First, let’s compare the specs of both cards before diving into a deeper comparison:

Rtx 4090 vs 7900 xtx:

Design:

Nvidia vs AMD has always been quite the debate. Let’s start this by talking a little about the design of both these GPUs. The first word that comes to your mind after seeing these is HUGE! .By hu,ge I mean these GPUs are way too;  ig, no average casing can fit these  GPUs, so if you are thinking of buying one, make sure to check your casing size before. If we are talking about the weight, both of these GPUs weigh over 2 kilos!

4k Performance:

7900 xtx: To test out the 4k gaming performance of the AMD 7900 xtx, I loaded up some Battlefield 2042 on maxed out 4k settings. As you guys probably know, BF 2042 is a title not supporting DLSS, so I thought it was not going to perform that well on the AMD 7900 XT, but this GPU did not cease to amaze me with its performance. I was averaging out at mostly 90- 120FPS at all times.I did notice a few stuttery now and then, but I believe these issues would be sorted out by the driver updates later on.

RTXx 4090: I took the same test from the RTX 4090 with the same max config on 4k.From what I noticed, the FPS were a little higher on the RTX 4090, they averaged at 110-11,3, whereas in the AMD they stayed in the 102-105 range. Another thing that I noticed was that the FPS were way more stable, by which I mean the amount of stutters I was receiving was way less compared to the 7900 XT, which made the game way more enjoyable.

1440p Performance:

7900 xtx:

Now, if we talk about 1440p performance, this is where I saw this card improve drastically. I tested the GPU on the same gam, BF 20,42, on the same conf ig. My FPS were averaging from 160-190 mostly, the stutters were almost none, and it was more of an enjoyable experience for me as I prefer FPS over visuals.

RTXx 4090:

If we talk about the 1440p performance of the RTX 4090, the fps ranged from 165-18. What It i noticed was that the upper limit of the fps was slightly higher on the 7900xtx.Whereas if we talk about the stability, I’d say in 1440p, both GPUs gave super stable performance.

Overclocked Performance:

RTX 4090: The base and overclocked performance of the RTX 4090 differed quite a lot. In most of the game, I could see a 10-15 FPS gap between the base and overclocked cconfigig and the temps would rise by almost an average of 15 Celsius over the stock themtempsmost titles like R DR2, Pl ague Tale Requiem, I saw an increase of 10-15 fps, whereas if we talk about Forza Horizon I iaw a drastic increase of over 40 FPS!

7900 xtx: If we talk about the overclocked performance of the 7900 xtx, I  say the FPS gap between the stock and overclocked benchmarks was very similar to that of thRTXtx 4090. I saw an average increase of 10- 15 FPSS in the same games. The thing that amazed me in this AMD GPU was that the temps were way more stable compared to the RTX competitor. I saw an increase of only 3-4 Celsius ,which is just insane, which made the performance in overclocking way more stable.

Conclusion:(Nvidia vs Amd:4090 vs 7900 xtx)

I think if I had to choose from one of these GPUs I’d go for the 7900xtx because not only it costs way lesser($999 compared to $1599)but also its performance is also almost on par with the Rtx 4090, T he only thing that makes the 4090 better is its performance with Ray tracing on, but that can also be balanced out by the fact that the 7900 xtx performs way better after being overclocked.

I’ll end this current Nvidia vs. AMD debate by saying that the 7900 XTX is a better choice as compared to the RTX 4090.
