The Most Effective Free Social Media Marketing & Advertising Technique for SMEs, Designers & Bloggers in London
LFS simply reveals the most effective social media marketing and advertising technique that you can use to promote your business and blog on Twitter.
This blog post has a very long title purely for search engine optimisation purposes, yet it has a very short and simple message to any London-based small business owners, artists, bloggers, and fashion designers:
Hungarian Entrepreneurs Networking Event
I have recently met many small business owners in one place, at a #smallbiz networking party near Victoria Station, in the beautifully designed Hungarian Embassy. I mean, the interior design is stunning! We all had the opportunity to speak up and promote ourselves to a group of SMEs, but not everyone spoke up. I didn’t, for one.
However, the networking party itself was less formal; everyone was invited to an amazing tasting of quality Hungarian wines, brought and presented to us by O’Connor Varga Lilla. Lilla is currently marketing wines of oflesser-knownn Hungarian wineries. She’s a marketing expert who previously worked for Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design’s Sales and Marketing Department as a manager. But recently she returned to her real love: quality wines. (source: kreative.hu)
I must admit I had a few (2-3) glasses – they were deliciously fresh Rose and Pinot Noir nectars. While slurping the wine, H.E.N.E. members started to mingle and get more social, then I mentioned that I dealt with Search Engine Optimisation and Online Marketing.
Some of the members asked me which social media channel was my favourit,; and I replied: “Twitter” to their greatest fascination. Some did not understand how this fantastically social real-time chatting platform worked.
I would sneakily add to this that even the Hungarian Entrepreneurs Networking Event’s website is lacking a Twitter account! How come?! It would be one of the most important networking platforms: instant short messages to anyone without knowing their phone numbers.
H.E.N.E. runs a Facebook Page here, though that should definitely contain more English texts. I understand that this is a networking event for Hungarian business owners operating in the city, but at the end of the day, no business can flourish in London unless they speak the common language that everyone else uses. Otherwise, having a Facebook page is great!Thee first steps of getting social.
I have also heard of a lot of start-ups buying Twitter Favourites, Retweets, and Followers. Though it might look amazing on their profile pages at first sight, when you look at their tweets, no one cares about what they have to say.
The secret of being successful at social media marketing
The secret of being successful at social media marketing is very simple: GET SOCIAL.
Every time I log in, I first look at my notifications. I thank everyone forfavoritingg and saving my tweets. I write a nice welcome note to my new followers, and I try to avoid irritating automated reply tools.
I search for topics I am interested in, as well as people that I find interesting; then I reply to tweets and connect with other Twitter users by saying hi and asking how they are doing. They reply. They are real people behind their businesses,s just like you and me. So my tweets are visible on their profiles, too. Therefore, I reach a wider audience,e and so do they.
Anytime we swap messages or tweets, the original message is displayed, too. This benefits the accounts of all the people who take part in the conversation.
Twitter, just like Facebook, measures engagement rates mainly and not the number of your followers! You can have 2000 followers and still be less successful in using Twitter than 20 businesses chatting about the same topic using the same #hashtags over and over again.
